Nicole Wagner, NP, obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing at Valparaiso University and a Master of Science in nursing at Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin, Nicole played an integral role in developing and expanding a large dysautonomia center. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner with the American Nurses Credentialing Center and specializes in cardiology, electrophysiology, syncope, postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), and orthostatic hypotension.
Growing up, Nicole wanted to become a teacher but fell in love with the field of medicine after discovering that the medical field has unlimited opportunities to help and teach her patients. She started her nursing career as a hospitalist to gain a broad knowledge base and determine which specialty to pursue. She quickly found out that she was drawn to cardiac patients, especially those with rhythm issues. She believes that electrophysiology is not a “black and white” field. Rather, it is an ever-growing field that is constantly improving. She finds it exhilarating to stay on top of current research not only due to her love of learning but also because it gives her valuable tools to help her patients overcome their health struggles. Nicole strives to look at the “big picture” and enjoys taking a holistic approach to improving her patient’s quality of life. She prides herself on her ability to listen intently to every patient’s needs. Nicole works hard to ensure that every patient understands their diagnosis, their options moving forward, and the reasons for her medical recommendations.
When she is not taking care of patients, Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, biking, hiking, exploring, going on vacation, reading, and playing cards and board games.
